If you love it so much, why don't you marry it?

I made this salad. I love this salad. I don't think that I would marry it, because I am already in a committed relationship with Pizza. But if things don't workout between Pizza and me, I might consider something serious with salad.

Chinese carryout. Meh. It wasn't bad and wasn't good.

Parting is such sweet sorrow...

Hi all. We are heading off on vacation for a week and I will only be posting at my leisure, which likely means that I won't post anything at all until I get back.

In the meantime, I would like to leave you with these images to hold you over for a while.

Frozen Kung Pao chicken from Trader Joe's. It wasn't bad and it wasn't great.

Not food related at all, but I still wanted to share this picture. This handsome fellow was given to me two very good friends before they moved. I keep him safe and sound in my home office and say "good morning" to him every day before I begin work. Connor's Lego collection also resides in my office.

This isn't just a regular egg, sausage, and cheese sandwich... It's an egg, vegetarian sausage, and cheese sandwich. I love Morningstar farm's veggie sausage.

Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.

Stuff We Ate Earlier This Week

I am pretty sure that these pictures are from Monday, but I won't swear to it.

First up, lunch with the kids at Skyline. Connor the attitude of a teenage girl lately and he can be quite unpleasant when we are out in public. Ian started taking pictures at Skyline and Connor went in to full drama mode.

Connor really is a cute kid, not that you can tell it from this picture. He was embarrassed that I wanted to take his picture. "Mom, what if someone sees you taking my picture? Ugh, you are so embarrassing to be with!" He ordered a regular 3 Way and 2 buns with chili and cheese.

Here's my food - the Deluxe Black Bean Burrito minus the sour cream and olives but with a shit ton of hot sauce.

As we paid the bill, the kids each grabbed a Spongebob ice cream treat from the cooler near the register. Connor needs to get some more adult teeth soon to even out the giagantor front teeth that he has. Click on the picture, you'll see what I mean.

On to dinner - my sister and her husband came over and we got takeout from Grand China. I switched it up and got General Tso's chicken - made extra spicy. It was pretty good.

David got sweet & sour chicken with crab rangoon and Stacey had the garlic chicken with an egg roll. Connor ate frosting directly out of the package for dinner.

Monday & Tuesday

Here's a bunch of stuff that we ate on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Anyone who doesn't like ramen noodles or macaroni and cheese from a box is clinically insane or has a poor palate.

Sometimes we have bread for dinner. Just bread.

Spicy mixed vegetables from Grand China in Hilliard.

Connor surprised me this week and switched up from eating mint chocolate chip ice cream to eating chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup. It was quite shocking as mint chocolate chip has been his favorite flavor for as long as I can remember.

Tuesday - 3.31.2009

Here's breakfast... Like an Egg McMuffin, only better. I used smoked ham, sharp cheddar cheese, one egg, and a whole grain english muffin to make this sandwich. It was tasty!

Here is Ian enjoying lunch with his recently collected Happy Meal toys. He has 8 chicken nuggets, a small order of fries, B.O.B., Ginormica, and The Missing Link on his plate.

My cousin Olivia has been helping me out this week by picking the kids up from school and baby-sitting them while I work. Here is Ian in her car, waiting for Connor to get out of school. He managed to find the one toy in her car, a rubber ducky. Of course he proceeded to grab her water bottle and drown the duck in it. That's just how his mind works.

Shadow loves to go for car rides and always goes with me (or in this case, Olivia) to pick up the kids from school. He's a happy, and spoiled, dog.

Judging by last week's posts, it would appear that I almost never cook at all. That's actually far from the truth. A lot of nights I end up cooking not one, but two meals. I don't like red meat and Tony won't eat anything even remotely spicy, so that rules out us ever having the same chili recipe for dinner. Connor and Tony had chili for dinner on Tuesday.

I love spicy food, as does Olivia. She stayed for dinner on Tuesday and I made homemade Chinese Hot Pepper Chicken. I used 10 jalapeno peppers, a lot of crushed red pepper, garlic, onions, and scallions to make this. It was yummy.
