While I dropped the kids off at school on Wednesday, Lucy ate at least 1/4 of a tub of margarine that was left on the counter. She proceeded to vomit the margarine throughout the house for the remainder of the day.
While I dropped the kids off at school on Thursday, Lucy grabbed a container of chocolate frosting out of the pantry, chewed it open, and ate most of the contents. I think that Shadow was in on this one too. He had a guilty look on his face.
Connor likes to eat frosting straight out of the tub. Apparently Lucy does too. Connor left a tub of frosting out on the kitchen counter, we left to run errands and came back to find the tub empty and Lucy's nose was covered in vanilla frosting residue.
It doesn't matter how far back on the kitchen counter a food object is placed, Lucy will still find a way to grab it. I suspect that she has Go Go Gadget arms.
I made bacon and eggs the other morning for breakfast. Later in the day, I roasted a turkey. I had plenty of both leftover, so the next day I made an amazing sandwich in a baguette with turkey, bacon, provolone, and roma tomatoes.
Speaking of bacon... While I was cooking the bacon pictured above, Lucy managed to snag the 4 raw pieces that weren't already in the pan. She seemed to enjoy her treat very much.
Much to Tony's delight (okay, not so much), we've added another member to our family. Her name is Lucy and she was adopted from the Capital Area Humane Society. She's about a year old and looks to be a German Shepherd/Lab mix. She's a sweetie. And because this is a blog about food, I am obliged to inform you that she eats Science Diet dry food.
I love to cook, I love food, and I like to eat. I believe that meals should come in all varieties - healthy, unhealthy, and gluttonous. I don't believe that all meals need to be "square" or "balanced" or even "nutritious". Food should be tasty and fun. Please enjoy these pictures of all of the tasty and fun foods that my kids, my husband, random family members, friends, occasional strangers, and I eat every day.
